Exaggerated MUCH >_< photo from HERE. |
I was thinking of something good to post while preparing lunch earlier today. [Mind you, I'm a good cook! hehe] Okay, so I was peeling the onions when I accidentally cut my finger. I looked very closely to see if it really was cut because it doesn't hurt at all. But when I saw that blood is starting to ooze out of my epidermis (LOL), sige skin na lang, I also started to feel the pain. Was it only psychological?
After washing away the blood, I began to associate this situation with love. (nyahehe) :P
All of us had been hurt and each has their own way of coping. Some would find another person to cover up the pain. Some would cry their heart out until they feel better. Few may project/blame other people to lessen the burden they're carrying. But most of us would find ways to divert our attention. We'll try to ignore the source of the pain because the more we see it, the more it hurts.
I resume peeling/slicing the rest of the veggies I'd use, but this time, I felt a little nervous. I was afraid that I might cut my finger (which is stupid, yet true) and hurt myself again.
The same thing happens with love. Once we get hurt, we become afraid of trying again. We start to guard our heart so much and push away the people who might hurt us. This is just normal, I think. However, we should not stay in this situation too long or we might end up isolated from the rest of the world. Once we're done crying, we should stand up and gather the shattered pieces of our heart back.
I looked at the veggies laid on the table and picked up the one nearest to me. No hassle because it's already right there. But when I peeled its skin off, I found out it's rotten inside. Damaged good huh?
Love wisely. Do not be blinded by what you see. Do not hurry things 'coz you might end up getting hurt again. As the song says,
"You can't hurry love
No, you'll just have to wait
Just trust in a good time
No matter how long it takes"
God has plans for you. Better than what you want. I bet you prefer first class goods rather than damaged ones. hehe... :)
Wanna try my sinigang? It's de-li-cious.
just a cut :) |
Yeah. They say time heals all wounds, but that presumes the source of the grief is infinite.
ReplyDeletePeople have walls as part of their defense mechanism. If you set it too high, then love may not be able to come in so that's how you fall in love... You lower your defenses and the chances of getting hurt is bigger but of course, on the flip side too, there's also a chance of happiness.
ReplyDeletesometimes you won't notice the pain unless you actually think about it. :)
ReplyDeleteWell you have to love yourself first before loving others. it one way of coping with hurting situations that gets in the way.
ReplyDeleteA lot of people are afraid to try again once they got hurt but how can one learn if you will not feel pain?
ReplyDeletewow, this is beautiful! it's amazing that cutting your epidermis (lol) could lead to such deep and wonderful thoughts. but i agree so much with everything you said here. love need not be rushed. everything will come in God's perfect timing. great post! thank you so much for sharing your thoughts! God bless :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat great analogy and sharing. Your sinigang looks appetizing!
ReplyDeleteThat thought was good. Anyway, your wound will heal. :D
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about it! It'll only make you stronger and wiser... in the kitchen. :)
ReplyDeleteI thought this article tackles
ReplyDeleteon cooking and preparing food...
I was right and when I finished
reading, being loved and hurt are
the main subjects. Anyways, the
association is just surprising but
so TRUE. The SMILEY somehow lightens up
every pain... :)
to prepare a nice meal is an effort, like relationship hehehe... but when it is done well, it will always worth it...
ReplyDeleteI always cut myself that cutting seems to be part of it or I'm use to it..same with love lol eventually you will move on though it takes time but you will move on not even feeling the wound anymore that once was there...
