Try to place the pads near a door that you want the puppy to go out of when it has to use the bathroom. When you see the dog beginning to go on the pad, take it outside the door that is beside the pad. This will instill in the dog’s mind that when it has to use the bathroom, it needs to go out the door. Another way to get the dog to go on the pad is to pick it up and put it on the pad when you see it starting to use the bathroom on the floor. Puppy pads are disposable so that all you have to do is pick the pad up and throw it away instead of cleaning a larger mess on carpet or hard floors.
